NYSAWA is the largest organization of women school and district administrators in New York State. We are a grassroots organization of women and men from all levels of school and district administration dedicated to using multi-strategy approaches to solving issues women administrators face in the workplace. We seek equity, inclusion, tolerance, diversity, and fair treatment of all.
Advocacy – We support women’s employment rights efforts at the local and state levels of governance – Board of Education, BOCES, SED, and New York State Government. We are proactive in our response to women’s employment issues calling upon the skills and leadership of our members to act.
Networking – Our activities bring together women and men to problem solve and provide support.
Training – Our “Train Up to Move Up” workshops and conferences are offered through our Educational Leadership Institute (ELI@NYSAWA). The ELI works to build administrative knowledge, skill sets, and values among woman seeking higher levels of leadership in school administration.
