The Board of Education of the Hancock Central School District announces a vacancy in the position of Pre-K–12 Principal. It is anticipated the new Principal will begin his/ her duties no later than August 1, 2017. This vacancy follows the upcoming departure of Brenton Taylor who has resigned to accept a position with the Unadilla Valley Central School District.
Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for New York State certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL) or Supervisor (SAS). It is expected that the new Principal will become an active and visible member of the school community.
The District has enjoyed an enviable record of consistent financial support for school programs and is interested in attracting a Principal with administrative experience and a proven record as a strong educational leader.
The successful candidate should have:
- The ability to develop, lead and motivate the district staff and students to excellence.
- A comprehensive curriculum development background, a history of integrating technology into classrooms and a progressive, yet realistic, educational philosophy.
- Excellent communication skills and a responsive approach to the Board, Superintendent, students, parents, staff, and community.
- Excellent supervisory and staff evaluation skills.
