Description:
Buffalo City School District is seeking a dynamic school leader with demonstrated success in promoting student achievement and development, and cultivating partnerships with parents and community. The candidate will be appointed by the board of education in July 2025 with a start date by Fall 2025.
Buffalo City School District is the second-largest school district in New York State and is renowned for its commitment to equity for all and its unique cultural and linguistic diversity. Located in Buffalo, N.Y., the district is comprised of more than 60 schools, 30,000 students, and 100 countries represented with an operating budget of more than $1.1B.
A three-year contract will be offered with a minimum contract salary starting at $280,000 with consideration given for preparation, qualifications, experience and record of accomplishments. Buffalo City School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
- Valid NYS certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)
- Extensive leadership experience in an educational setting, which must include district and building-level experience
- Successful administrative experience in an urban setting with a large racially and economically diverse population preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the Buffalo City School District with a commitment to engage all stakeholders in its success
- Leadership skills built on integrity, trust, and accountability
- Demonstrated capability to work independently, develop strategies, and build alliances to reach stated professional goals
- Outstanding communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with all stakeholders
- A track record of distinguished success in educational and organizational leadership
